7 Family-Friendly Events in St. Catharines (January - February 2023)


Whether you’re new to the neighbourhood or simply looking to get out of the house this winter, here are seven family-friendly events taking place in St. Catharines this season.


Weekly – Farmer’s Market

Taking place each Saturday, plus Thursdays commencing in March, the Farmers Market provides a wide variety of meats, beverages, prepared foods, bakery goods plus, of course, locally farmed produce items.


Hungry for a fresh meal? Pick up already-prepared options from food vendors including Banh Theory (Vietnamese), Fiesta Empanada (Filipino), MaGhana Home Touch (African), Niagara Samosas Factory and more.


The Farmer’s Market is located at Market Square, 91 King Street.


January 18 - Books & Babies

Parents and caregivers are invited to bring lil’ readers 24 months and under to the St. Catharines Central Library for Books & Babies. Activities include creative plays, singing songs plus specially selected books for developing wee minds! The event runs from 9 AM to 10 AM.


St. Catharines Central Library is located at 54 Church Street.


January 20 - Make Your Own Snow globes

Also at the St. Catharines Central Library, it’s Make Your Own Snow globes day! Children 6-10 are invited to come create their special craft with all materials provided including figurines, glitter, and wintery decor.


This event begins at 2:30 PM and ends at 3:30.


January 20 - PD Day Camp

Open to kids 5-7, PD Day Camp offers themed days full of crafts, activities, and drama games, presented by Carousel Players at Silver Spire United Church’s Arts Education Centre.


Registration is $45 and the camp runs from 9 AM to 4 PM with early drop-off and late pick-up available.


Silver Spire United Church is located at 366 St. Paul Street.


January 28 – Abba Mania

Calling all dancing queens! Get your favourite shoes and your singing voices ready, Abba Mania is coming to Partridge Hall. Family members of all ages will be amazed by the famous combination of costumes and vocals as the music of Abba comes to life before your very eyes.


Special guests include tribute acts to Adele, the Bee Gees and Freddie Mercury. Tickets


Partridge Hall is located at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, 250 St Paul Street.


February 10 - PWHPA Showcase Game

Get your tickets today as the Niagara IceDogs and the Ontario Hockey League host some of the world’s most talented women’s hockey players for exciting on-ice action at the Meridian Centre. Players will include, but aren’t limited to, Olympic medalists Kendall Coyne-Schofield, Sarah Nurse, Hilary Knight plus locals such as Alexa Vasko and Brianne Jenner.

February 20 - Tweet Tweet!

Presented as part of Family Day at the PAC, Tweet Tweet! Is a special circus performance about two hatched birdies who are exploring the world for the first time: a perfect introductory show for children 5 and under with a run-time of 30 minutes.


Presented by Femmes du Feu at Robertson Theatre. Tickets
